On this week’s episodes Ben shares some of the lessons he has learnt from his grief. Ben lost his father at 12 and his mother at 19. Losing both parents was not easy and it affected him deeply. Feelings of depression and anxiety seeped in throughout his journey with grief.

We are back with another episode and we are ending the year with this episode doing what we do best: talking about grief. We are joined by Paul Donaldson this week with whom we have an open and honest conversation with about the loss he has encountered throughout his life. His journey with grief began with the loss of his first stepdad and at the age of 19 he lost his biological mother. Paul talks us through his journey and the battles he faced between his grief and the road to recovery. He shares some of his darkest moments battling suicidal thoughts and why he now has a changed mindset to live more intentionally and purposefully.

On this week’s episode we are joined by a special guest, Jodie, who has blessed us with her time and presence to share her experience with grief following the death of her sister Georgia.
Jodie opens up about her grief journey and how she has mentally dealt with the loss of her sister. Georgia (who she also refers to as George) died by suicide on the 4th December 2017. We talk about suicide, what is the correct phrase to use when talking about a suicide related death, the misconceptions of suicide, ways mental health for students can be improved, and much more.
Jodie runs an Instagram page called @living.with.loss_ which she uses as a safe space to talk about grief, mental health and share experiences of this new life without her sister.
